The First Snow FallThere once was a little girl who was very cold.
Anyone who touched her would turn to ice, and never grow old.
So alone in a corner she would sit by a fire,
and wait for a cure to aspire.
One day a man came to her door
and said, 'I can show you more.
More than this gloomy room,
things that would make your imagination bloom.'
So off she went with the man,
while eating tuna from a can.
Off they went on an adventure,
where no one else would dare venture.
They saw strange sights like birds living in the sea,
and as many different animals there can be.
They traveled by hot air balloon,
and once, they flew over the moon.
If they traveled to the moon then why not the sun?
'We'll have to lose some sand bags, they weight a tonne.'
Off they went to the sun to warm up the girl.
She was so excited, it made her toes curl.
Up up up they went, higher than the sky.
The girl looked down below her to see birds fly.
The man grinned at her and moved to adjust the balloon,
but tripped over some stray rope a

Rope dug into Patrick’s wrists as he struggled to free his hands. His hot, damp breath washed over his face, trapped by the fabric sack secured over his head.
A floorboard creaked. Patrick froze, his back rigid against the chair, and strained his ears. Another creak.
“Hello?” he called.
The sound of swishing fabric.
“Who’s there? Where am I? Why’d you bring me here?” Blurred memories swam through his mind: drinking at the bar; stumbling home; a shadow sweeping out from an alley.
Fingers grasped his chin and jerked his head upward. “Hush.” A woman’s voice.
